Anna Nordqvist v Georgia Hall.
Former champion Anna Nordqvist will play for the first time in 14 months when she defends her title at the 2019 Saudi Ladies International.
The 32-year-old Swede, a winner of six Ladies European Tour events and the 2014 LPGA Rookie of the Year, has not played since winning her maiden title at Maybank Championship, also at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club in Kuala Lumpur.
Nordqvist took to social media to reveal she would be playing in the Riyadh tournament later this month.
“After a lengthy break from competitive golf and relaxation, I’m excited to be able to return to the Jeddah area for the first time in over 14 months,” she wrote on Twitter.
“I can’t wait to hit the course with a few friends and share a few laughs. Hope to see a few friends from the LPGA Tour, as well, in attendance.”
The Saudi Ladies Championship at Royal Greens Golf and Country Club is a co-sanctioned event with the Ladies European Tour and will take place from 12 to 14 September.
However, the tournament will not be a fully subscribed event, with just over 6,000 tickets available for sale.
The 2018 event is said to have welcomed more than 27,000 spectators.
