Security footage from inside the Burger King in Archdale shows terrifying moments that followed the gunshots.

One child, believed to be aged three, and another, believed to be aged 13, were inside the fast food restaurant when the incident occurred. Both victims sustained injury to their legs after suffering from bullet injuries during the shooting.

The McDonald’s located next door to the Burger King was locked during the exchange of gunfire. The children were transported to a local hospital by ambulance. The two shooting victims have undergone surgery and are recovering in the hospital.

Police Chief Michael Preslar told the Associated Press the children were unharmed beyond their injuries.

Authorities said they are hunting for two teenagers who allegedly used a handgun to open fire outside the Burger King drive-thru.

There was “an active and ongoing investigation,” according to Lt Carlos Pearson, of the Archdale police department.
