Sandra Lee, once the queen of celebrity chef hosting, is back in spotlight in Cuomo divorce

After filing for divorce earlier this year from Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Sandra Lee struggled with what seemed like everything from empty cupboards to losing fans.

But now the late celebrity chef, best known for hosting “The Sandra Lee Show” on Food Network, is back in the spotlight on a New York City celebrity circuit.

Lee, whose show no longer airs in the United States, appeared in an image tweeted by actor Josh Groban on Sunday night to host a fundraiser at New York City’s exclusive Christ Church World Outreach Center. Tickets for the 4 p.m. event with fireworks and raffles for expensive dinner dates ranged from $300 for students to $5,000 for those in the VIP “Master Class.”

Super excited to have my old pal Sandra Lee on tonight as the guest host of the fundraising gala for the wonderful @socritourism! @ChristChurchWorld @Socritourist pic.twitter.com/jdejtxf2A3 — Josh Groban (@joshgroban) August 12, 2018

Groban, a longtime friend of Lee’s, in 2013 named her the inventor of the popular “jeans-in-a-pantry” fashion move and she received an Emmy nomination for best cooking show for “The Sandra Lee Show.” Her son was also an actor.

The cameo comes as a transition in her life unfolds. According to The New York Times, she is still trying to settle a contentious divorce from Cuomo, who remains governor.

Cuomo, 62, and Lee, 52, have been married for more than 20 years.
